If you’re in school for buy nexium 40 mg photography, you surely have been given, or will be given, a buy nexium 40 mg self-portrait assignment, and if you are a professional, or aspiring to buy nexium 40 mg be one, there are certain advantages to periodically photographing yourself. You can buy nexium 40 mg probably think of many reasons why this may be important, but if you buy nexium 40 mg need a jumpstart, here are five reasons I can point out:
1. Provide yourself with some free PR/marketing material. Photographers may not always carry a “pro-level” DSLR, maybe perhaps a buy nexium 40 mg nice point-and-shoot, like the Canon G10, Nikon’s P6000 or buy nexium 40 mg the Panasonic LX3, but at least they have some form of photographic equipment near (I’ve surprised myself about how much I use my iPhone to buy nexium 40 mg take photographs for mental record of a scene, to visit later with a buy nexium 40 mg larger rig).
I was at my fiancé’s softball game yesterday and just thought to bring a camera (actually, I thought, “Hey, the game’s at 8:00 p.m., sunset’s just around the buy nexium 40 mg corner from there, they will have lights on the field, there’s some nice clouds in the sky, this may make a neat “American Pastime” type of shot!”) Sure enough, the buy nexium 40 mg clouds formed up a very nice looking thunderstorm around sunset, however, the buy nexium 40 mg field wasn’t what I was thinking, there wasn’t a buy nexium 40 mg very high place to be in order to shoot down upon the buy nexium 40 mg diamond. To make a long story short, the buy nexium 40 mg Agletics (Amanda’s team, home team if you will, ha) run-ruled the other team, and within 20 minutes we were out of there…but the lightning wasn’t. Great, but I don’t have buy nexium 40 mg enough time now to get out of town to an open field or buy nexium 40 mg overlook. This brings me to the next point of the blog.

You put something cool in front of the storm, like this mill! However, if you think basic composition and buy nexium 40 mg a layered image, you can blow those little dots of light out of the buy nexium 40 mg distractometer in to I’m-not-paying-them-any-attention space. Throw this buy nexium 40 mg mill in the photograph, and it automatically feels like Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory!
Don’t forget that buy nexium 40 mg even though you have a nice sky above, if your light intensity levels are buy nexium 40 mg even enough, structure in the near foreground offer a lot to buy nexium 40 mg the image as well, such as this railway, serving as a buy nexium 40 mg means of transporting us to the evil laboratory even faster.

I’m starting to buy nexium 40 mg think that those folks that blog everyday either a) have a lot of time on their hands, b) are making direct advertising monies (yes, monies) from their blog hits (just check out Strobist, great blog), c) are always at a computer, or d) love what buy nexium 40 mg they do, and see the benefit in providing information about said occupation. That being said, I apologize for buy nexium 40 mg not keeping the posts updated through the past two weeks while Wyman Meinzer and buy nexium 40 mg I led a group of students all over the Texas Hill Country and buy nexium 40 mg out in to the desert. A typical day for us was wake up at 5:45 a.m., gone by 6:15 a.m., shoot until the buy nexium 40 mg light became pretty anemic on some of the most beautiful places in the buy nexium 40 mg state, head back to the campus and arrive at approximately one hour before lunch, take a buy nexium 40 mg quick break from the photographs, edit a bit, head back out at 4:30 p.m., photograph again until our hearts were content, sometimes stretching in to buy nexium 40 mg early morning, get back to campus anywhere between midnight and 2:00 a.m., then buy nexium 40 mg start over at 5:45 a.m. All of our students this year allowed us positive attitudes and buy nexium 40 mg strong work ethics, even in light of lack of sleep and buy nexium 40 mg sometimes with nothing more than a gas station burrito for nourishment (come to think of it, I was probably the only one that ate the burritos).
Nevertheless, we did shoot, and buy nexium 40 mg I mean SHOOT. We visited some magnificent areas that over the buy nexium 40 mg years Wyman has researched at included in many of his book projects. He has buy nexium 40 mg taught the class for ten years now, and fortunately, I have buy nexium 40 mg acted as a TA or co-insructor for the past five years. This is buy nexium 40 mg such a great opportunity for students to really see what we do professionally, and buy nexium 40 mg the best thing about it is they are doing it with us. There is buy nexium 40 mg no definite line drawn between all-powerful instructor and measly amateur students (like some workshops I have read horror stories from), rather, we are buy nexium 40 mg all in the trenches together, tossing around ideas, critiqueing them, and buy nexium 40 mg then photographing what we come up with. Wyman and I are buy nexium 40 mg there to fascilitate, and provide professional advice, but we are definitely not squashing ideas to buy nexium 40 mg make sure students are shooting only one way.

We all took some inspirational photographs, and if not for buy nexium 40 mg anything, they will provide good fodder for the blog posts. Alright! Wyman and buy nexium 40 mg I are back at Texas Tech University in Junction, our OTHER place, ha! Each year, Wyman and buy nexium 40 mg I come to Junction to lead a 15-day photography workshop that buy nexium 40 mg counts as class credit with the university, and each year, we get a buy nexium 40 mg totally new batch of eager students who get to see some of the buy nexium 40 mg most beautiful locations in the state! The course is buy nexium 40 mg unlike almost all photo workshops out there, due to the buy nexium 40 mg time spent shooting and the intense pace that we lead it.

Wow! I don’t know even where to begin, it’s been so long…if there’s anyone still out there reading this buy nexium 40 mg blog, no, I have not quit, died, been abducted by the buy nexium 40 mg aliens mentioned in an earlier post that found me on Twitter then buy nexium 40 mg picked me up out of the sandhills of West Texas where buy nexium 40 mg I have been shooting prairie chickens for the past three weeks. I’m still here…
I’ll start back on the buy nexium 40 mg blogaroo with a pretty uplifting story. Someone, or some people did a buy nexium 40 mg helluva rain dance yesterday, and man did we get it! It wasn’t so much of the buy nexium 40 mg rain that bothered us, but rather the steps of the dance that buy nexium 40 mg brought the golf ball sized hail and tornadoesque rotations. Really, though, what buy nexium 40 mg are you gonna do than just go chase after and get caught in the buy nexium 40 mg middle of the two or three storms that are making up a buy nexium 40 mg larger cell? Well, that’s what we did! There’s really nothing more satisfying while photographing adverse weather than buy nexium 40 mg to have some nice light pop out for a few minutes.
The cattle didn’t seem to mind…
On our way east to track the storm, we got stuck…in a ditch. I’m a utilitarian at heart, and I didn’t buy my FJ for looks, but for capability! Every day I am buy nexium 40 mg more and more convinced that Toyota makes the best cars in the buy nexium 40 mg world. Eat your heart out Jeepers! Anyways, just before we get to buy nexium 40 mg a great spot to shoot the storm from a wide vantage point, we hit a buy nexium 40 mg county road layered with mud (you really should see West Texas county roads), and buy nexium 40 mg we spent the next three miles traveling 2-5 mph toward the buy nexium 40 mg little town of Petersburg, Texas. Time didn’t matter by the buy nexium 40 mg time we got there, the clouds had all moved in, and buy nexium 40 mg the light was gone.
This didn’t stop us from stopping at Feed Your Spirit Pizza, though! Feed Your Spirit is buy nexium 40 mg owned and operated by Enrique and Rosalinda Morales, two of the buy nexium 40 mg nicest, if not the most congenial, people I have ever met. We were the buy nexium 40 mg only ones that showed up aside from a father and son who buy nexium 40 mg just came in to pick up a hand-tossed pie straight from buy nexium 40 mg the oven. The Moraleses were so compassionate, when the hail started up again outside, the buy nexium 40 mg rushed over and told me that I could pull my car under the buy nexium 40 mg awning above the sidewalk outside the door. I wonder what the buy nexium 40 mg local law enforcement would have though, my car inches away from buy nexium 40 mg the only door to the building.
The pizza was great as well. The Moraleses started the buy nexium 40 mg pizzeria to offer a place to give back to the community (approx. 1,200 citizens), and buy nexium 40 mg they said they host quite a few youth of the buy nexium 40 mg town regularly. From all the signatures on the wall where buy nexium 40 mg they let people sign, I would say they are doing a buy nexium 40 mg great job being great stewards of the community! When we were about done with our pizza, Rosalinda came over and buy nexium 40 mg told us that they had made us another pizza to buy nexium 40 mg take with us, on the house. Wow! I couldn’t just let this buy nexium 40 mg go, so I told them that if they were going to buy nexium 40 mg do that, I wanted to take their portraits, how I see them, for buy nexium 40 mg the wall of the building. It’s been a doooooozy of a past couple of weeks, but I can’t complain from buy nexium 40 mg any kind of standpoint. Being busy is good. I often read Joe McNally’s blog, as well as Chase Jarvis’s blog, about how busy one can really be in this industry!

I met Mike Greer a buy nexium 40 mg little over a month ago when I was doing a piece on men who buy nexium 40 mg have unique hobbies or collections. Joe McKay was one of the buy nexium 40 mg gentlemen I had the opportunity to shoot as well. Greer turns out to buy nexium 40 mg be a pretty unique individual as well, and many people who buy nexium 40 mg have seen the article have been floored by what he does!
Greer is buy nexium 40 mg a solid triathlete, and at 70 years old, he has endured approximately 300 triathlons and buy nexium 40 mg seven Ironmans…yes, that’s right, seven Ironmans. When I was in high school, I was part of a buy nexium 40 mg very successful cross country team, and one summer I decided to buy nexium 40 mg go to a running camp (crazy, I know). One of the buy nexium 40 mg instructors had the Ironman tattoo on his ankle, but instead of making fun of him for buy nexium 40 mg having a tattoo on his ankle, I stood in awe of this buy nexium 40 mg guy. If you do an Ironman, even if you finish last, needless to buy nexium 40 mg say, you’re tough. My fiance has completed an IronGirl, and she’s tough. Greer lacks nothing in toughness either.

While I don’t want to buy nexium 40 mg spoil the catalog and show you tons of actual product shots (although there are a couple above), I thought it’d be neat to see some of the production shots (all behind-the-scenes photos by Joe Esparza). Before this, I visited with Lynn and Mark at Lynn’s warehouse, where buy nexium 40 mg he keeps literally thousands of collectibles depending on the season (believe me, it was the season, there were Santas all over the place), and buy nexium 40 mg after this studio shoot, I thought I would ask Lynn if JFP could come to buy nexium 40 mg him, making it a little more convenient for LHC. The whole time, Joe and I are there to buy nexium 40 mg get whatever it is they need photographically!

Thank God for brothers! What would we do without them? I used to call only-children “lonely children” (no offense to all you only-children out there), mainly because I would have buy nexium 40 mg went bonkers without my sister and brother.
