Several folks on Twitter have messaged me wanting to see how the Hogg Maulies photos turned out. The Hogg Maulies is the band that I play around Texas in, and we decided the other day to take a few quick photos for a promotional poster for a few upcoming shows. I love doing quick shoots like this because they are off the cuff, and they turn out looking pretty cool sometimes. One 580 EX speedlite, Canon 5D Mk II, and 20 minutes in a field north of Lubbock next to a landfill. Fun, colorful, yet edgy due to the shadow/hatchet lighting. Top left to right: Rode Morrow and Parker Morrow. Bottom left to right: David “Sherm” Mullins and me (I don’t necessarily think I’m that reflective in real life!).
Speaking of future photoshoots, I’m looking for four donkeys to shoot this band riding, so if you have or know of anyone that has some, tweet me (@jerodfoster). Cheers!

Really like the lighting. Are you using PW’s?
Yes, the new TT5 and TT1! I’m pretty satisfied with them. It sure beats infrared line of sight!
I read a few topics. I respect your work and added blog to favorites.
