I thought I would drop a note about a treasure of images being offered by Andy Biggs, longtime African wildlife photographer and director of many safaris in the continent for professional and amateur photographers alike. Andy is making available two portfolios of work in special packaging (might I say, some rather classy packaging, including a handmade portfolio box, showcase gloves, as well as a cover sheet and interleaving pages between the prints).
The two portfolios are titled: Timeless Africa Collection and Colors of Africa Collection. Clicking on the names will take to their respected features in his announcement, however the full announcement is linked above. I have been following Andy’s work for a some time, and I am always excited to see more. I see quite a bit of the same material coming back from photo safaris from many photographers, but I certainly enjoy Andy’s most unique perspective. The photos in the portfolios he has made available are just that – utterly unique and beautiful! I get to work side by side with one of the nation’s most respected wildlife photographers, so I would like to think I can give a well-learned opinion on this work, and it really is something you should all see (whether or not you are a photographer, wildlife enthusiast, conservationist, or just plain interested). I know Andy is proud of the images, as well he should be!
As I mentioned in an earlier post, while you’re over at his blog, The Global Photographer, take a look at his Web site and online portfolio, as well as his much-acclaimed photo-gear bag, Gura Gear. I hope to have mine soon, as I am anticipating using it quite a bit when Spring hits and teaching university intersession and workshops begin!
