Jerod+Foster 0765 In Development

Ha, so little is the word “development” used in photography anymore, but change is existence, right? This week has been a blast to photograph, and I’ll get a few images posted next time around. I’m catching up to myself one thought at a time, but progress is being made! I shot a magazine cover yesterday that I can’t talk about too much, or at least post any photos of yet, but to give you a hint, it involves two Heisman trophy nominees and food (huh?)!

Something to chew on though, here’s a shot of what I consider to be “big land.” I grew up on a ranch in North Central Texas, close to Fort Worth, and it was a great place to grow up. However, I never understood the big (I mean huge, gigantic, own hundreds of thousands or millions of land) ranch idea. Since moving further west and working with Wyman and Sylinda, I have had a fast education in this hugely respected, yet underrated, cultures. To give you an example of the land and view cowboys on these ranches get to view on occasion in a long stretch of land from Fort Worth to Lubbock, this shot explains big!

This shot was taken in the middle of afternoon, and the light isn’t what I would necessarily want, but the focus is definitely on the immense distance and never ending cloud structures! The clouds shading long swathes of land help out in such anemic light situations. I just couldn’t pass it up!
